Giveaway and Review of Beloved Wizard by Shannan Albright

Happy Tuesday everyone!!  We have made it passed the Monday slump and are getting closer and closer to Friday!!  LOL!!  Today I have a wonderful treat for you!  I was fortunate enough to get Shannan Albright back on here and she has agreed to giveaway a copy of her wickedly wanton  Beloved Wizard.  Let's take a look at the book details:

Merci Tramaine is not happy to be called back into service by her old boss Arthur, especially when she is charged to find her missing ex-lover. Drake Monroe is Merlin reincarnated. With his powers bound by the Goddess Nimue, he has become a skilled fighter, but is no match for Nimue who kidnapped him, determined to destroy him forever.

The bloodline of Morgan Le Fey taints Merci, keeping her on the edge between light and dark. The goddess’s wicked trap springs shut, leaving both Drake and Merci racing against the clock. Passions ignite once again, but are they too late to plan a future or will they be torn from each other?
This time for eternity.

My Review:

This book has a little bit of everything.  Its a unique twist on the Arthurian legend that most romance readers love to get their hands on. What HEA lover wasn't crazy over the legends associated with his knights and their gallantries?  This book is focused on Merlin.  Merlin is reincarnated into this time as Drake, but his powers are bound by the goddess Nimue. All he has are his memories and some wondrous fighting skills. You don't find out why Nimue wants him to suffer, but there really has to be a story behind it.  She acts like a woman scorned and I'm sure a goddess in that frame of mind is a lot scarier than us mere mortals..lol.  Because of Nimue, Drake has relationship issues.  He falls in love with Merci but pushes her away.

Merci is a descendant of Morgan Le Fey, and has inherited her dark magic.  She struggles constantly with keeping her dark magic under wraps, but it has a seductive pull.  Drake breaks it off with her and she leaves Author's services to go out on her own to try and start over.  The story begins with Author seeking her out because Drake is missing.  Merci curses him but agrees to help.  Even though her heart is shattered by his dismissal, she needs to know he is alright.

They are thrust together because of one goddess's vengeance, but may walk away with more than they ever though possible.  This was quite an entertaining twist on the old legend and contains something for everyone!! I really enjoyed this read and hope Shannan continues with the series!!  It was a quick, hot ride!!

Is there really a such thing as having a favorite knight???
I mean really....that's like asking if a highlander looks good in a kilt?
I honestly can say I do not have a favorite Knight...sorry but that's just not fair to the others...LOL

I have a few favorite knights, but I'll limit it to Lancelot and Ivanhoe.

The book sounds great and I love the modern Arthurian idea

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

Don't get me wrong I like Arthurian legends as much as the next girl but I'm not real familiar with King Arthur and his knights so even if I have a favorite I wouldn't be sure if he was an actual knight or not.

I'll try anyway though, let's see favorite knight, um Sir Galahad was a knight of the round table wasn't he? For the time being I'll have to go with him as my favorite.

I need to do some research about this. Thanks for the giveaway!

My favorite is from LOTR, Aragorn :)

Even before I saw the movie and envisioned him from the books alone I longed for him-lol.
